Boy's Rule April Sketch
Gibson's 2nd b'day was in January, we weren't there but got these pictures off FaceBook and hadn't scrapped them yet. The April sketch from Boy's Rule worked perfectly for the pics so here is my layout. Sure looks like Gibson was having fun.

Wild Kingdom
I used the great sketch #89 from Sketchablities to do this layout. My grandkids and some friends were at their neighborhood park yesterday for the Wild Life on the Move exhibit. I would have liked to have seen the bird but would have passed big time on being up close and personal.
I'm also entering this in my yahoo scrapbooking group scrappin-n-chattin for one of the April monthly challenge to use a TV title as your layout title. So these were perfect pictures to work for this.

Thank You Card for April sketch at Sampler Kit Club
When I finished my layout for the April sketch at www.samplerkitclub.blogspot.com
I decided to just go ahead and use some of the same paper that I had out and make a Thank You card.
Seems I can always use them and nothing could be easier since my supplies I used were mostly in front of me. It was such a great sketch and one I can use over and over again in many different ways.
Help YourSelf
I found a great sketch today at www.samplerkitclub.blogspot.com for their April Challenge.
Couldn't resist scrapping this picture I got yesterday on Facebook of my Grandson.
He took the meaning "Help Yourself" to a whole new level when at age 2 yrs and 3 months
got into the refrigerator on his own to have a snack of yougurt.

Mani-Pedi Time
I found these pictures on FB of Mylan taken last year. They just describe my little diva granddaughter to a tee. I used the April sketch at www.scrapourstash.blogspot.com It might be hard to see but I did a triple faux stitching in white, red, white ink. I pulled out an old old collection for this layout.

Kai Ice Skating
I made this layout today from a sketch in my yahoo scrapbooking group and for the "Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits" blog where the challenge is to use 5 patterned papers. 4 of the strips are patterned and the background paper is patterned. I loved the challenge of combining the different patterns and also the fact that I got to clean out scraps for this from my scrap drawer. Always good to know that
I save them and finally get to use them.

Side Trip to Gettysburg
Here is another layout from our trip to DC and area. I made this layout for a combination of 3 challenges. I started out using the April sketch at www.granddivasscrappyplace.blogspot.com
Then for the challenge at www.scrappinhappy.blogspot.com, the recipe was to use hand stitching, use a punch and used mixed alphas. All of which I did.
Challenge #3 is at www.devosmoomy.blogspot.com and the challenge there was to add something that flies.
There were a total of 4 possible challenges and if you used at least 2 of them you are added in for drawing for a bonus prize. I was really pleased that I managed to do 3 of the 4.

Still working on layouts from our Road Trip Vacation to DC. I'll be entering this for my 3rd entry of the travel challenge at "The Paper Girls Challenge blogspot.
http://thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2013/04/challenge-30-travel.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ThePaperGirlsChallengeBlog+%28The+Paper+Girls+Challenge+Blog%29&utm_content=Yahoo%21+Mail
We got to see so many great things while there. This was the first time I had been inside the Library of Congress and to say it is beautiful is an understatement.

Ford Theatre tour
Another layout from our road trip in March to DC. We stood in line for over an hour to tour the Ford Theatre, this was one of the places Dad wanted to see so off we went. The tower of books was quite impressive, it was a copy of every book ever printed about Lincoln. It's rare that I save and scrap memorabilia from a trip but my daughter always scraps hers so I'm learning from her and kept all our tickets and brochures on places we went on the trip. I am also entering this for the travel challenge at

Road Trip - 1st Stop
The newest challenge just announced today at the Paper Girls Challenge.
www.thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com
is for travel layouts. This is perfect for me because I have all my pictures printed from our
road trip from Missouri to DC less than 2 weeks ago. This layout is at our first planned stop
on the trip. The AirForce Museum in Dayton, OH where we had spent our first night out on the road.
We had a great time seeing all the planes, old and new.
Painting
Here is the layout I made this morning for the Lasting Memories - Use Your Stash Challenge for this week. LM#135
I definitely used my stash, I got all of the papers I used from the DCWV "The Stack Collection #5"
probably one of the first collections of paper I bought, but I had enough left for this to all go together.
It felt great to use some of my old papers instead of just hoarding them all.

Decisions Decisions Decisions
Love this picture of my granddaughter Mylan and the expression on her face trying to decide on her
choice of candy in the candy store. I used the great April sketch at Artful Delight. ASC#31 I just got out some card stock, Thickers, bakers twine for stitching and leftover scraps of patterned paper and I was ready to go. I did rotate the sketch to fit my picture.

Like Father Like Son
I have always loved this picture that I found on my son's FB page from 2009, the quality of the original is not really good, rather blurry, but still knew I wanted to make a layout from it.
I used a wonderful original sketch by my online friend Theresa Neubaum from the yahoo group "Scrappin-n-Chattin" and I am entering it "It's about a Boy" challenge blog. The April 1st challenge was to use Chevrons. So here it is.

Jason Spring 1981
Since I'm thinking Spring and Flowers and Warm Weather, I found these pictures of Jason at this great-grandmothers house in March 1981. I remember he was drawn to the flowers on this Dogwood tree and thinking he could hide behind them, so I got these photos of him and McKeever.
I'm entering this layout at "Lasting Memories" for their childhood memories challenge #134.
Nothing better than a memory of my son and our dog at my grandmothers.

Red Carpet Studio - Ribbon Challenge
I used the "use ribbon" challenge at Red Carpet Studios for this layout I made for my daughter celebrating Indpendence Day 2011 in DC

My Train
This was the March sketch at Boys Rule blogspot. Totally different than anything I've ever made, so kept it very simple. I noticed this single sheet of paper I had and knew I had some pictures of Kai back at Christmas 2007 and figured I could get them all to work with the sketch.
LOBSTER
I just got this picture last night on FB of Kai, they were at his Uncle Davids' house and getting ready to
have a lobster dinner. I just wonder what he was thinking when they started to cook these live lobsters.
I did the challenge for March 1st at Scrap Our Stash which was to use at least 50% kraft paper.
I used all kraft paper on this layout and then we had to use at least 3 pieces of metal and I added the 4 black brads inside the title frame.
Take Me Out to the Ballgame
I made this layout for Leslie and Jason and some of the memorbilia she sent me from various dates they have had. For this I used the sketch at Scrap Our Stash blogpost and along with the sketch the challenge was to used mixed alphas on your title. I used a lot of things from my stash including the baseball and glove embellies I've collected from swaps and dug thru all my alphas to find what to use.

Family --- RCC#26
I made this layout today using the prompt to use three button for the Red Carpet Studio challenge "Curious Case of Ben Button" I've always loved this picture of my son and his family that was taken when they were at a meeting/vacation in Marco Island, Florida in May 2010.

Engaged
I made this layout about my daughters engagement. The full hand picture was taken with the
rain forest where the proposal took place. The journaling is about that and about Leslie always
wanting to have my Moms wedding rings when she gets married and that is what she got.
I'm entering this layout at www.redcarpetstudiochallenge.blogspot.com
RSC #24 The Notebook, the challenging was journaling.
BABY
This layout was made for the challenge at www.itsabouttheboys.blogspot.com
the challenge was to make a layout about babies. These are old pictures I took of my son
Jason and are actually ones that I also developed myself when I was into that, but soon found out
it was too time consuming with a new baby.

Let it Snow
I used sketch #84 from Sketchabilies. I was looking through old pictures and found
these 4 from a snow storm while we were at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Ok back in 1971 and
I knew they would work perfect for this sketch.

Jason's b'day and Sushi for all
Jason had a great 35th b'day and even a great Sushi chef to make some awesome Sushi for everyone
and that was just some of the fantastic food we all gorged on all night long.
A fantastic night, fantastic party, fantastic food and best son ever. :)

Boys Rule Sketch - Selling cookies
This is the latest sketch in September at Boys Rule blog. So simple but yet really
gets to showcase a great choice of papers in my mind. I used Pink Paislee = Prarie Hill collection.
This is a picture from two weeks ago when I stopped by to see the kids and Kai was showing me
the brochure for his cookie sales at school. And yes I bought 3 tins of cookies from him.
What can I say he is a good salesman. :)

Boys Rule Aug. 31 sketch
Last week I went with Jason and Susan to English Landing Park and Kai played
forever on the monkey bars until he mastered it.
I used the Boys Rule August 31 sketch for this layout and loved it.

One more drink
I'm getting my scrapping mojo back. This is my 3rd layout for Mel's 30 in 30 challenge for the month of September. I shouldn't have any problem getting at least 30 layouts made in September.
I have so many pictures the problem now is just deciding what paper to use as I seem to have way way to much to chose from.
This is Leslie getting one last drink before we leave Cabo for Jason and Susans wedding.
I used the latest Creative Scrappers #224 sketch and it had to have a long long title, so tis worked great.

Boys Rule Julie Bonner sketch challenge
This is probably the only picture I have of Jason's paternal grandparents together with his Dad for a group family picture. I'm glad I finally scrapped it.
I love this sketch by Julie Bonner and its for the challenge running till end of July at the Boys Rule blog.

Family Weekend - BG sketch
We spent the weekend in St. Louis at Davids house and Arthurs daughter Barbara's family also flew in.
This was the first time all the Greenberg cousins have been together since the latest 2 arrivals.
So here is a layout made with pictures of all the cousins together.
I used the latest Basic Grey Sketch and all my papers were from the BG - Out of Print collection.
I loved all the colors in it.

Boys Rule sketch challenge
I used the June 8th sketch over at Boys Rule to make this layout of Kai. I hadn't seen the picture before but Susan sent it to me and I just love it. I "think" this was taken in April in CA when they
went out for a friends b'day party and it was a white party and everyone wore white. Kai, as always looked so cute . I used all Pink Paislee papers from Indigoe Bleu with the exception of the banner and that was left from the cuts outs of a die cut circle I had made from a piece of Bo Bunny ETC collection. I used a lot of it yesterday and just saved these pieces knowing they would work on a border sometime. I like how it stands out from the rest of the coordinating papers.

Jason & Susan wedding
My son and daughter in law had a destination wedding in Cabo Dec 5, 2008 and I've scrapped so many of those pictures already. But her parents also wanted them to have a church wedding, so their "1st" wedding was in their church on Nov 1st. There weren't a lot of pictures there as the guy who was taking pictures something happened to his camera, but I did manage to get these pictures from my seat.
So wanted to add these layouts to their album. "finally"

SUNRISE
In the scrapbooking group I'm in SnC "Scrappin n Chattin" we are having a photo a day challenge for the month of May and the prompt for todays picture was a sunset or sunrise. So I got up at the ungodly hour of 5:30 am and was out walking in the yard to take this sunrise picture. I loved it so much I wanted to make a layout of it. I used the May challenge sketch from www.thesamplerkitclub.com. It was the perfect sketch for this because I just wanted to highlight the picture and not take away from it with the background paper or embellishments. So found this piece of solid color paper, put a small mat around the pic in another solid for and then got out my cricut and just used white paper to cut the swirls from the "Lovely Floral" cartridge

Boy's Rule May 11th sketch
This sketch worked out just great for some of the fun photos I got this week of Bruce (my brother) we were both joking around with our i-phones and started taking pictures of each other at the same time.
If nothing else we have fun together, never a dull moment.
Memphis trip layouts
These are just a few of the pictures I took at Mud Island. I used the May sketch at Authentique bloodspot and used the Authentique Journey collection. I'm really loving their papers. I thought the background paper went well with the pictures, with the twists and different colors, just like the twists and depths that are cut into the walks at Mud Island.

gray and 2 color challenge
We are having a weekend online crop today with some of the SnC members. One of the challenges was to make a layout with the color gray and only 2 other colors. Plus use the word SPECIAL in your title.
I chose pics of Kai from Christmas 2008 and used gray ornament paper and my 2 colors were green and red.

Authentique Sketch Challenge
I loved this sketch and different from anything I have made before.
Its very hard to tell in this picture, but every other circle I set up with pop dots and also the
matted picture is set up on pop dots for some dimension to the layout.
I used papers from the Authentique Splendid collection:
The background paper is Magnificence
The circles are one side of the Brilliance paper and the matting is the other side of
the Brilliance paper. Same is the banner with the title.
I used Thickers for the Title and then a pale yellow ribbon from my stash to
tie the 3 flowers from my stash to the circles.

I found a new challenge site
Just 2 weeks ago I joined a new scrapbooking challenge site and I love it. They have weekly challenges with double page layouts. It seems I can never find a double page layout I like, but I have entered the last 2 and love them both so now look forward to seeing what they will have each week.
The latest challenge started 4-4-12 and since that is my b'day I decided I had to make a layout of pictures from my b'day that day. So here is the layout.

Everyone is golfing
Jason bought Kai his first set of golf clubs last week. About the same age that Jason got his first set.
So with everyone in town for the weekend we had 4 generations going to the driving range.

Double layout today
When the kids were in Florida for Thanksgiving, they did a lot of different things including going on a Zip Line in Melbourne, FL.
The top layout is for the Sketches in Thyme sketch #72 in March and since I had more pictures I made the 2nd layout to go with it using some of the same papers.
Everything is from My Minds Eye - Lime Twist collection.

SPRING TIME
It's been a busy day !!!! I went shopping for some scrappy stuff, only bought one piece of 12x12 stickers of Authentique genuine. Had a 30% coupon of Authentique.
Then went to Lowe's and bought a new light fixture for the bathroom downstairs. The one they had there was ugly to say the least. Plus we are going to repaint the room, so this was the time to do it.
We have had a week full of rain. 2 weeks ago we got some new landscaping and an irrigation system put in. We decided we were to old to move hoses all around the yard to water it this summer.
But since then we have had close to 3" of rain.
But today, it actually got sunny so I went out trimmed some more bushes and then got more grass seed, in the low spots and places the landscapers had filled in were so wet I thought seed was washing away, so a spread new seed all over those places and then a little more overseed over the entire yard.
So I'm beat now. It's getting really black outside, so the rains will start again. Suppose to rain tomorrow also and then finally clear for the weekend. Hope all my seeding takes root and then before long it will be major mowing time.

Todays layout
I used the #3 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Everything else I had found sketch wise new for the month I think I had already used. I actually found the picture just trying to find something to fill into a space for this time frame in Jason's album.
